Composite deck with vinyl pergola on new custom home south Fort Wayne

The owners of this new custom home wanted a deck that matched the quality and aesthetics of the home that their contractor had just constructed for them.   While most home builders do a great job on most facets of the home, many times the outdoor living spaces are not thoughtfully created or well executed.  That is why we got the call from this couple-They did not want to take any chances.

These owners were used to making decisions on materials and had no trouble specifying Azek Island Oak for the decking and trim, white Azek Premier railing with black composite balusters, and covering part of the space with a high density (for maximum shade) white vinyl pergola with ogee ends on beams and rafters.  They did not want to see exposed wood so they specified sleeves for the 6×6 deck support posts.

The decking was laid diagonally with a picture frame border.

They are happy and excited with their new house and their new outdoor living space.  They elected to have companies and people who specialize in different areas of home building provide for them and it was to their benefit.  Now if the grass would hurry up and grow!

What is ICPI and why is it important to know when you are looking for a Fort Wayne area paver patio installer?

Chances are, you’ve never heard of ICPI. And you likely don’t want to know too much about professional paver patio design and installation. But what you are certain about is when you are looking for a contractor to do a job, you want to hire someone who is tops in their field and invests their time and effort to pursue industry training and certification. When it comes to residential concrete paver installation, being an Interlocking Concrete Paving Institute Certified Installer (ICPI) is as good as it gets.

To meet the guidelines required to be an ICPI certified installer, patio builders complete professional education coursework and demonstrate installation experience. This is important because having experienced and education in paver installation techniques will result in a patio that will stand the test of time. In my training, I also learned techniques for increasing efficiency which results in time and money savings for my customers. I also added to my knowledge of green infrastructure and permeable pavers.

Stamped Concrete Patio

We know and fully understand that budget drives the decisions made for outdoor living projects. That doesn’t necessarily mean settling for boring. These homeowners stepped out on wobbly concrete blocks directly on to grass.

Before, nothing to entice you to enjoy your yard.

Archadeck of Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana designed a stamped concrete patio using a granite stamp pattern. A pewter base color with a gray plum secondary release color makes an eye catching statement.

Belgard Granika steps span the width of the door making a safe and stylish approach.

Screened Porch and Paver Patio Transforms Backyard Living

These northern Indiana homeowners lived with an awkward set of steps leading to a mismatched and buckled cement/cement block patio. Archadeck of Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana helped them transform their outdoor living space into an inviting and accessible space for relaxation and entertainment.

Before: an awkward step down to a buckled and mismatched cement patio.

A pressure treated wood deck was built and became the flooring for a lovely screened porch utilizing the Screen Eze system with Super Screen coated polyester screening. Exteria’s stone skirting adds interest to the low maintenance exterior as does a standing seam metal roof.

Inside a Westbury rail adds a layer of safety and protects the screen. A low maintenance vinyl ceiling makes for a bright and clean look. A Casa ceiling fan with light will keep the air circulating and extend the usability into the evening.

A trendy and space saving custom made sliding barn type screen door provides access to the brand new paver patio. Belgard’s Dublin Cobble Harvest Blend with a Lafitt border creates another inviting space for these homeowners.
